Thanks to the thoughtfulness and generosity of friends and the kindness of strangers (who we now will be proud to call friends) Jordan had the opportunity to see the course where she will fight to win a spot in the 77th Annual US Womans Open. A few months back we blanketed our friends with requests for anyone that may have a connection to Morris County and Brad and Nadine Viana came through in a big way offering up their friend Matt Guenther. Matt, a long time member of the club very graciously invited Jordan to play and brought along his business partner and close friend Brian Gorcznski, a former captain of the BC Golf Team to give B some competition.
It was a beautiful day for golf and Jordan, Matt, and Brian set out with Coach Carl and Joe the caddy to get the lay of the land. Jordan’s long game was spot on only missing one fairway and driving the ball 250-265 and more down the center. Greens were lightning fast and still a bit bumpy from the winter frost and subsequent punching. Putting was excellent. Chipping was the lowlight of the day as her distances were a bit erratic. The purpose of the day was to get a feeling for the course and not about scoring but she probably finished 4 or 5 over with 2🐥’s. The qualifier is going to be super competitive with more then a third of the field established card carrying tour professionals. Once again, a big thank you to first Brad and Nadine for the introduction and to Matt for so graciously hosting Jordan and giving her this much needed first look at the course. We look forward to getting to know Matt and his family better.

In other news, Jordan returned to NY late Sunday night, played 9 at Sterling Farms on Monday shooting par for 9 holes. She was -2 through 8 before doubling 9. She played RockRimmon with her very close friend Faith on Tuesday walking 18 and finishing just before dark cold and tired. Wednesday she played another 9 at Rockrimmon under the watchful eyes of Joe Russo the caddymaster who helped guide her to a -1 finish with his expert tips and suggestions. On Thursday night she had the privilege of playing nine with Jason Denker, a many time Club Champion at the Rock. They played from the tips, about 7200 yards and were neck and neck through 13 holes where Jason ended up besting Jordan by a single stroke. You can be assured that this rivalry is in it’s infancy and will be on for years to come! Thanks Jason.
Coach Carl came in on Wednesday night and will be in through Sunday to get Jordan tuned up and ready for next weeks season opener for the Met Jr. PGA to be held at Bethpage Blue April 30th-May 1st. We will post her T time and the link to the leaderboard when it is published late this week. Carl’s dedication and love for Jordan humbles us and we are forever in his debt.

These were from Wednesday morning at The Rock at 8 am when B went out to practice. It was 44 degrees and the wind was howling.
That’s all for now. Thank you once again for all of the interest and encouragement. This is a lonely path for Jordan but the encouragement and support of our friends and family, old and new (Welcome Matt!) makes it fun and bright.
It thrills me to follow ALL of this.
I had hoped to come see Jordan play in Bethpage where, believe it or not, my Mom use to play in golf tournaments. I was a goody, goody two shoes. My one rebellion from my Mom’s directions was that I refused to take the golf lessons she wanted me to take. Does anyone want to discuss how I now regret that? I took ice skating lessons, horseback riding lessons and on from there. Which lessons do I now wish I had taken?
Jordan, I will be with Steve in AZ on May 11th but will be cheering you on as I do every day, and looking forward to the film and to you being proud of yourself for all you are accomplishing.

glad to see you’re back again with the Tyrannosaurus reporter giving us lots of good information. I am so excited for you,. I wanted to know more about the turf you will be playing on at the Morris County Golf Club, Morris County, New Jersey on May 10th and discovered it was founded in 1894. It was unique at the time in that it was owned and operated by women only!! Loved the way so many people came forward to make it possible for you to see the golf course and play on it. Loved all the photos – so excited for you. love you and your enthusiasm – grandma jerie
