Jordan is going into day two at OCN only two strokes out of the lead. (Click for pics and more).

It was a very windy day to begin the Junior Open at Orange County National making it a ball strikers paradise. After a little bit of a slow start, Jordan would lead the tournament for a good part of the day. Her T to green play was at a level it has never been before. She missed only one fairway the entire day and was on the green in regulations for every hole but two. Again, her putting would be the thing that gave her the most problem. The strange part is just how solid and consistent her putting stroke is. B had 42 putts today in todays round with a total score of 81, 9 over par. This means that of her total strokes today it took her only 39 to get to all greens, and 42 to get it in the hole. Those who know and play the game will recognize just how incredible her game was. If putting had been anything near typical, not even great, she could easily have shot a score that began with a 6. Normally, Jordan is looking to have around 28-30 putts in a game. Though this blogger obviously is EXTREMELY biased, it was the best golf Jordan has ever played and it was a treat to watch it.

Jordan started by parring 10, bogeying eleven, and parring twelve. She would double 13, par 14 and bogey 15 putting her in 11th place with plus 4 after the first five holes and then the magic began. B parred 16, 17, 18, 1, 🐥2, and parred 3 to take the lead. 4 & 5 were bogeys allowing two others to tie her for first place, then she parred 6&7 to again be solo for the lead. Unfortunately she would triple 8 and bogey 9 to end the day tied for 3rd place but only 2 strokes off the leader. For the day Jordan had 5 triple putts and 1 four putt. It is just astounding how incredible the rest of her game was to still be in contention for the Championship with this amount of putts.

B will round out the final group (top 3 of the 31 players) when she takes the T box at 1:23. It is sure to be a very exciting day. Mom and coach Carl will be there to cheer her on.
