To quote Carl Rabito, ”This was a very very difficult course.” Hazzards surround most of the holes on multiple sides guarding with both sand and water. Fairways are narrow and very few holes are straight forward. The greens are postage stamp size and the balls will roll off if not landed perfectly. Carl predicted very high scores today and as usual he read it right. The temperature today would stay stubbornly over 90 with high humidity and not a breath of wind giving a real feel temp of 94 plus. Jordan would walk over 7 miles in a round that lasted over 6 and half hours.
B started on the 10th hole with a flash parring both 10 & 11. On 12, she blocked her drive sending it into the water on the right of this very narrow fairway. It would be the only fairway that she would miss on the day and it would cost her dearly as she doubled it. It rattled her forcing her to bogey 13 & 14 before she was able to settle down and par 15. B would go on to bogey 16, par 17, and bogey 18 finishing the side at 6 over and temporarily placing her in the bottom half of the field.
After the turn, Jordan parred one, then would bogey 2 & 3 before taking control and going -1 through the last third of the tournament. She would par 4,5,6,7, & 8, then would finish in style draining an 18 foot putt for 🐥 to shock the field and finish tied for 3rd just 3 strokes out of the lead. From 12th place to 3rd in 6 dramatic holes.
Jordan’s trouble today came from her putting, a place that she usually dominates carding 3 triple putts and 3 balls that would lip the hole. Her long game was almost flawless with the exception of the 12th hole. While the media department pens this report, the sound of putting practice upstairs vibrates through the house. She is not going to lose this tournament because of her putting tomorrow.
